Holocaust Study

The Aliyat Hanoar orgnization helped in rescuing thousands of children from Europe during and immediately World War II. They provided those children with a home, education, therapy and support system within Israel.

As the Director of Psychological Services at the Aliyah Hanoar organization, Professor Feuerstein personally worked with many of these children. In the mid to late 1980s, he teamed up with Hadassah to conduct a follow up study to evaluate how these children had assimilated into Israeli society, and what were the effects, be it postive or negative, that Aliyah Hanoar played in their experience.

We are now conducting further research on the remaining survivors. We are interested in the continuance of their stories; but also in what their experiences can teach us about aiding children who have overcome severe traumas.
